Love, education, health care…
What are we doing to save the people in our country who were a product of over prescribing in the early 2000? When I was in my twenties I had a rollover accident and I was prescribed Oxycodone. I had a lot of pain, but I did not to take it because the feeling of needing it was scary, to think I could be addicted to anything. It pulled me away from what I was doing one night, that’s when I decided I had to find a natural way to heal.
My family has always been close to me. I’m the fourth of eight children and by this time I had three children of my own. The adjustments I had to make meant I could not do everything I wanted to do, whenever I wanted. Being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia was interesting because I learned to say no, so that my body wasn’t constantly tense and could heal.
What about all the people who weren’t fortunate to relax and heal? Those who went to work to make ends meet? The young men and women that didn’t recognize the pull towards addiction? Those who trusted the doctors to do their due diligence and not over prescribe?
We have a generation of young adults who were neglected by the system and they are dying by the thousands daily! Stop turning a blind eye on my brothers and sisters, friends and neighbors, my fellow human beings in the greatest country on Earth! Help them find a safe path to test, get off the streets and off of opioids- Stop letting them die!
